Hey everyone! Whoo! It has been a long time, but I’m back! Hopefully my content will have only improved since my last post and you will actually be happy that I’m back!
Today, I wanted to tell you all about a website that I love! In high school, we had to buy dresses for prom and homecoming, and we might even use them more than once. Well once you are out of the high school scene, the chances of wearing beautiful gowns doesn’t normally come up as much. I had to go to a black tie event my freshman year of college, and none of my dresses fit me anymore…stupid freshman 15! So I needed a dress, but I didn’t want to go out and buy one again that I probably wouldn’t like or fit into later.
The heavens opened up and found me this website…Rent The Runway. Just sign up, its quick, easy and free and at your fingertips will be hundreds of dresses that you can rent for up to 8 days. These are designer dresses that would cost you hundred and sometimes thousands if you were to actually buy them. This deal is so much better! The price for renting is from $40 to $350. You can pick from two sizes just in case one doesn’t fit right, and you can rent another dress for just $25 more, which adds on to the most expensive one you pick. You can get two sizes in that one too!
I absolutely love this website, and have rented so many beautiful dresses from it. Here are a couple of my favorites!

Kim Kardashian is one of my favorite celebrities. She is a great role model when it comes to weight and shape of a woman’s body. She is by no means skinny, but she has curves and is seen as one of the most beautiful celebrities out there! She is confident about who she is and what she looks like, and that only adds to her appeal.
She also has great style. She always looks put together. Here is a recent outfit of hers, and I will show you how to copy it, but for less!
Look how simple her outfit is, but how casual and concise it is. The first step to recreating this outfit is a great blazer. 
This one is great. The cut of it gives it a girly feel and it being shrunk gives you a great silhouette. This one is from foreve21.com for $27.80.
Pair this with a tank that has an extra detail like this one…
This one is so girly and very fashionable! There is no need to wear any jewelry, this top does it all for you. It only costs $17.80.
Now add a nice pair of ripped up jeans. The purpose of this outfit is comfortable, casual, and put together. Everyone has their own favorite jean brand, so go with your favorite! That always works best!
She has a great bag in this picture. It is pretty, but brings together the whole “organized” feel of the outfit. Here is one that reminds me of Kim’s…

Well I hope you all see that’s it’s really easy to look put together and very casual at the same time. And if you have never checked out Lulus.com before, beware! Everyone who I have introduced it to gets addicted!
Elijah Wood, the star of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy said this of Rodarte, ““I just think they’re incredibly artistic, and I think they’re very expressive and the clothes are sort of very dramatic. Every show to me seems like an art project to them.” Now if Frodo is saying that, then you know they must be awesome!
Seriously though, Rodarte has a cult like following among the people who like it. Rodarte is the fashion house owned by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy who started the line in 2005 with only 10 pieces. They have received many awards like in 2009 when they won 2009 the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award. It is a very prestigious award for any designer to win.
Now on to what their clothes look like. They are different to say the least. They are a mixture of gothic and fantasy elements. They look like they should be in a dream almost. They look and feel whimsical and childish, but almost too raw and unpure. Here are a few examples from their Spring 2010 collection that I think really sum up who they are. 
The deconstruction of the clothes is a talent. It’s like they take different fibers they see anywhere, and make a design out of it. While I know some may not call these creations beautiful, it can be denied they are extraordinary.
Thier spring 2008 collection is more flowy and pretty than this one. I’m going to show you some of those pictures so you can see the talent they possess, from making clothes that look deconstructed then put back together, to beautiful dresses you could wear to a tea party. 
While the yellow skirt and top is a great design, the blue gown is breathtaking. The way it flows over the body makes it look like you are wearing water that is cascading down into waves. This dress is beauty at its core, and no one can deny that.
They possess a talent that I have seen no designer match. They can make unbelievably beautiful clothes, then next season deconstruct from materials found on the streets, and make extraordinary clothes from that. I hope you all see the talent that the sisters at Rodarte have and will keep checking in on their work to see what is next.
I love shoes. It’s been like this since I was 2. Blame my mother. Her closet has been bigger than her bedroom for as long as I can remember, and shoes lined every inch of the floor. I would go in there to play and walk around in crazy heels, and somehow, I didn’t break my ankle. It was a small miracle.
But that obsession has stayed with me as I’ve gotten older, and the obsession has only gotten more obsessive. So today I will share with you some of my favorites of Summer 2010 and some styles you should have in your closet!
So I’m going to start out with my favorite trend for summer, wedges! They go great with a flowy summer dress or a great pair of skinny jeans. They are usually much easier to walk in and still give you the shape of the elongated leg. Here is one of my favorites for spring from Steve Madden at Piperlime.com
These are so dainty and so beautiful. Pair these with a white, or printed dress, and you’ll have the start to a great look. This is such a great color, you could almost wear it with anything.
This one is my absolute favorite. It is unique and fresh, and the shape of the wedge is so different! The shapes of wedges being different is becoming more common now. It bring the shoes up to a whole new level. I highly recommend you get a pair of wedges with a unique shape to them, you will get compliments from everyone who sees them!
This one is from Bakers.com. If you haven’t checked out their website, it’s a must. They tend to take high fashion runway trends and make them accessible to the people who can’t spend $500 or more on shoes. (ME!!!) This is one of my favorite shoe stores, and I always find something I like there.
Another trend you should try is the flat sandal, but with a twist. Here is an example…
These are simple yet eye-catching. They can be dressed up or down depending on what you wear. And most importantly, they are comfortable. If you are walking around, these are a sure-fire pick. But maybe you don’t like this design, the great things is there are so many different flat sandals to choose from, you will never not like one. Here is another pick if you are more of a boho type…
I love these! I would wear them with a maxi dress, or a long skirt, or baggy jeans and a tank. They are so jeweled up that you don’t need to add any extra flair for you to stand out.
So the next trend I want to talk about it something that I can’t stand. I don’t mean to offend anyone out there who love them, but I think they may be the ugliest things to ever be on a woman’s feet…ever.
Clogs. They look like monkey are holding on to your feet. They are big, and bulky, and not attractive at all. WHO INVENTED THESE THINGS!?!? I really do apologize if I am offending you, but really? If anyone wears these, please leave me a comment and tell me why. I want to understand, but by looking at them, I just can’t.

Another one of my favorites is Ideeli.com. They have a lot of different designers that I have never heard of, but they have a lot of options. My favorite thing about this website is they always have a lot of different things they are selling. New boutiques open everyday at noon and can be open for up to two days. So click on the picture and there is your invite!
The next one I want to share is Gilt.com. This one has a lot more high-end designers. Sometimes, even with the great discounts they give, it’s still pretty expensive. But if you want a beautiful dress for a special event that you can wear and keep the rest of your life, this is a great place to look for something. The other great thing about this one is they also have deals for traveling. I remember seeing a beautiful all expenses pain trip to Morocco and if I had an annual income, it would have been a great deal! So maybe show it to your parents and they will be so excited you showed them, they might just take you too. The boutiques also open at noon everyday except Sunday, then they open at 9 pm. Another one I would like to show you is Swirl.com. I haven’t used this one as much, but they do have some really nice products. They let you know the maximum percentage that you can get off. They also have designers that I have never heard of but I have gotten very interested in them from this website. They have some great deals! When they have their Final Clearance Sales, you save so much off! I hope you have a look! Heres the link…
There is one more website I would like to invite you all too. It’s different, but in a good way. It is called Rent The Runway. You know how prom came along, and we all spent too much money on dresses we only wore once, well this is the solution to that problem. These are designer dresses, like up to $5,000 dresses that you can “rent” for up to 8 days. They have beautiful selections from designers I never thought I would get the chance to wear like Badgley Mischka and Alberta Ferretti. I recommend this site if you have a big event and want to wear some beautiful clothes that no one else will be wearing. Heres your invite!

As I am sitting in my house I look outside and its raining, and raining pretty hard. While I like a good storm every once in a while, I hate going out in the rain, it puts a damper on my wardrobe! Your hair gets frizzy, you have to wear a rain coat, or bring an umbrella. One good thing that does come out of rainy days, though, is you get to wear rain boots! Rain boots have evolved from the yellow slicker ones of our childhood into a great way of expression! They have great designs that show off your personal style, while having to look drab everywhere else.
Zappos.com has every shoe imaginable and they have a great selection of rain boots! Here are some that caught my eye…

They are adorable and can go with any pair of jeans. I have a pair of these in red! $54.95
In my opinion, rain boots can be somewhat expensive because you really will use them. And for me, there is one rain boot that I NEED to get and I know that when I do I will have it forever, and that is the Original Hunter Rainboot.
This is my favorite color, favorite height for these boots, but they have so many more options and they withstand a lot of wear and tear without getting messed up at all.
To me, rain boots can be pretty uncomfortable, unless you have a lining for them. They are just big socks that stay around the rain boot so they don’t rub you in all the wrong ways.
They are called Welly Warmers and are an absolute must for any rain boot. They provide extra comfort and warmth on some of the most miserable rainy days!
While the summer only lasts four months here in Virginia, it is a drastic change from the rest of the year and its not just your wardrobe that needs changing, but also your makeup routine. Now you may ask why you need to change it up a little. The summer means hot weather, and hot weather means you will “glisten,” and maybe a little bit profusely!
Every make up routine starts with foundation. For the summer, forget the foundation and use a tinted moisturizer with SPF in it. For a drugstore brand I recommend Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moistuizer. It has SPF 20 and you can layer it for the coverage you want. I used it all last summer. It looks great on, blends well, and doesn’t clog my pores. No extra pimples with this one!
If you want to go for a more expensive brand, Ive heard great things about Urban Decay Tinted Moisturizer. It is buildable coverage too and also has SPF 20 to protect that skin of yours. I plan on trying this one as soon as I can make it out to a Sephora!
I think the next best step is a great bronzer/blush combo. This one right here is the ultimate buy! This is the Sugar Cosmetics Blush and Bronzer Duo!
The colors are universal and look great one everyone. It has a little bit of a shimmer just to make sure that you pop.Make sure you don’t use too much, you just want a glow, not to look like an oompa lumpa!
The lips, in my opinion, do not need a lot of color in the summer. I have an obsession for lipstick so a great nude or pinky tone will be great. Ones like these are all you need. Because they are matte colors, you may need to add just a little gloss to make them shine!
Now for the eyes, sometimes the most important feature. Lighter shades of all colors are in for the summer, giving a water color effect. Just sweep one or two colors over the eyes, and your almost done. This Tarte Eyeshadow Palatte has so many colors, and they will blend beautifully together!
You can never forget the mascara! This is the most important part! Making your eyelashes look long makes your eyes look extra big! My favorite and one that I swear by is DiorShow by Dior. It makes the eyelashes extra thick and long and brighten up your eyes in general.

Many girls are scared of one of the cutest “old becomes new” trend that is out there right now.They are pretty differet from the normal day to day outfits, but ROMPERS are totally worth the risk! This one is in a great and unique print that will cover your legs. You don’t have to worry about showing too much leg. But remember, this look is so versatile, you can use it for special occasion too.
This romper is from Lulus.com and can be easily substituted for a nice dress. The ruffles on the bottom give the illusion to a full skirt, but you’ll be able to cartwheels if you like because everything will be covered. Don’t think that when you go to a nice event you can infuse your own style into what you wear. I dare all of you to try one of these. If you go to a store, pick up a couple different kinds with different cuts so you can see which one fits you best. I bet you will fall in love with one of them!
Sometimes people get a little stir crazy when they are in Farmville for too long, that is why is it so nice that Short Pump Mall is only an hour away! While I love almost every store in that beautiful outside mall, one of my favorites has to be South Moon Under. It is a higher end boutique with some very unique pieces available.
I went to visit for my birthday, I felt like I deserved something special, and I found it! I walked into the store and there is was, sitting on a table, calling out to me. I picked up the outfit, and tried it on. LOVE at first sight. It hit me in all the right places, accentuated my curves, and I felt great in it…that was until I looked at the price. I might have found one of the most expensive pieces in there!
I didnt buy it that day, but I still think about it! Here it is…
Ahhh, isnt it pretty? I still wish I could have it, but the $134.00 price tag defitanty turned me off. Thats not all the store has though, they have great pieces, and they are not all rediculous prices.
Something else I really like is this.
It is $54.00 which isn’t too bad for a boutique like this. I don’t even like orange, and I am really liking this dress. The abstract print is so bright and really catches your eye. And then as every girl knows, when a dress has pockets, it instantly makes it 10X better!
Dont think i’m forgetting you boys! They have a guys section too! I think all guys need a button down, and a short sleeved on is great for summer, just like this one…
It is a great piece at $55.00. It seems very cool in the hot summer days, you could pair it with shorts or a pair of worn in light jeans and you will look great!
